Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already in week 5 and will be officially half way through term 3 by the end of the week. Over the past week, students in years 1 to 3 have participated in a trial, for an online wellbeing survey. The survey was fun, interactive and very engaging for all the students who took part. We now look forward to using the information gathered to support the ongoing wellbeing of students in our school community.
A big reminder of our Tea Towel Fundraiser, as we currently still have plenty of the pre-ordered stock, available at the office. This is the exiting part of the fundraiser as everything we now sell is 100% profit. Please support the school association by purchasing a tea towel and put it away for a Christmas gift!
Today we have been fortunate enough to have Ian, from Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) come in and run workshops for our primary students. Water safety is crucial for us as Tasmania being an island state, with boating, swimming, fishing and other water activities being a major feature of Australian culture.
A big thanks to the student from Waimea Heights Primary School for coming and presenting a ‘Jump Rope for Heart’ demonstration for our whole school community.
The skills, team work and commitment to the sport of skipping was outstanding. The highlight for me was the resilience shown by the students when mistakes were made, they simply continuing skipping and at times re-attempting the harder tricks, multiple times.
As I’ve mentioned previously my door is always open if you needs to come in and discuss any concerns or opportunities for our school community. If you feel you need a longer appointment please make a time at the office.
Regards Mr Michael Park
