On Wednesday 28th February from 3:15pm to 4:30pm we will have our annual Welcome Back BBQ and meet the teacher afternoon. A schedule of each class session is provided below. This is a great opportunity to meet your class teacher and socialise with the wider school community.
During the Welcome BBQ afternoon, we will also be running two sessions for parents who wish to volunteer for parent help in 2024. Under the new Safeguarding children requirements all external volunteers must complete mandatory reporting and child safety training. The training will be provided in a group format with all participants receiving a certificate of completion. The sessions will be at 3:15pm and 4.00pm in the school hall. After School Expectations – Safeguarding Children
A reminder that after parents have collected students from their classrooms that you are required to leave the school grounds by 3:10pm. This is to ensure the safety of all students, and a key part of this is knowing that all students have been collected. Any students that are not collected by 3:10pm will be taken to the office by duty teachers and parent contact will be made. The after school program begins immediately after school and it is problematic when there is a mix of students and families still on school grounds.
The school toilets are also for students only. They are not to be used by adults at any time. This is also for parents who need to toilet younger children. If required there is a toilet at the main office.
3-6 Athletics Carnival
Finally, a reminder that our 3-6 Athletics Carnival will be held at the Domain Athletics Centre on Wednesday 21st of February from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Students are required to bring food and drink as there is no access to a canteen on site. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend the event and if you are able to support with marshalling on the day please present to Mr Latham on arrival.
Warm Regards Michael

NAPLAN 2024
Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will be sitting NAPLAN between 13th and 25th March 2024.
The National Assessment Program-Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) assesses literacy and numeracy skills that students are already learning at school. On its own, NAPLAN is not a test that can be studied for, and students are not expected to do so.
NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process – it does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance; however, students and parents may use individual results to discuss progress with teachers.
Further information can be found on the official National Assessment Program (NAP) website, and a parent information brochure has also been attached.
Please speak with your child’s teacher or Mrs Chante Ellerton if you have any concerns.
