Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already in week 7 of Term 2! We are currently in the midst of a very busy time at Goulburn Street, with the Swimming and Water Safety Program, Interschool Cross Country, and our External School Review all taking place.
A big congratulations to all of our Year 3 to 6 students who represented our school at the Interschool Cross-Country last Tuesday. All students participated to the best of their ability and, most importantly, had a great time supporting and cheering on their teammates.
The External School Review Team, consisting of three Principals, visited our school over three days last week, conducting a series of interviews with staff, students, and families, as well as visiting classes for observations. The review is part of a four-year cycle that all government schools must undertake, focusing on acknowledging strengths and seeking opportunities for improvement.
The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with the review team reaffirming what a great school and community we have at Goulburn Street Primary School. The full report will be published to the wider community later this term, but I have shared a couple of wonderful quotes from the review below:
“Students are given lots of opportunities to succeed, and this is celebrated as a school community.” (Family)
“If we need support or help, there is always someone to talk to.” (Student)
A reminder that Parent-Teacher Interviews begin next week. These conversations are a great opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback about your child’s learning progress. Please ensure you sign up this week.
Warm regards,
Michael
