Dear Parents
Classes 2020
Today students will find out which class and teacher they have for 2020. They will also spend a short period of time with their new teacher in their new classroom, giving them a great opportunity to familiarise themselves with their new classmates and environment. I can also announce that we have made a decision to increase our classes from 10 to 11, in order to decrease our class sizes across the whole school. The biggest impact of this change will be in our early childhood classes which will now all be 20-23 students instead of the 28 we have experienced this year. I am pleased to welcome Miss Hannah Parker who will be joining our staff, teaching the newly created 1/2 class. Miss Parker is an experienced teacher who will be a fantastic asset to our school community. As mentioned in last newsletter our PE teacher Miss Walch will be leaving us and I am pleased to announce that Miss Lily Czeszek will be coming to our schools as the PE teacher in 2020.
5/6 Band Performance
Our Year 5 and Year 6 Band will perform a special concert for our community on Wednesday 18 December at 10am in our hall. Parents, family and friends of the students involved are welcome to attend and celebrate the success of our band program in 2020.
Year 6 Leavers Assembly
Our final assembly of the year will be held on Wednesday 18 December at 1:40pm in our school hall. This assembly is an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful contribution that our Year 6 students have made to our school community over the past 7 years. All of our Year 6 students will be individually farewelled in a ceremony that will include; photos, student reflections, a choir performance and the traditional Year 6 leaver’s song. We look forward to seeing all our Year 6 parents, friends and family at this wonderful end to the school year.
Finally we want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 5 February for the first day of school for students in 2020.
