Dear Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the GSPS Association in making our Election Day fundraiser such a success. A big thanks to everyone involved, including the generous community members who donated baked goods for the cake stall, the parent volunteers who gave their time on the day, and our dedicated student volunteers, Paddy Davies, Sebastian Vogel, and Rose Morrison, as well as past students Sam Davies and Klara Donnelly. Additionally, we are grateful to Cripps Bakery for their donation of bread and to Masterfoods for supplying democracy tomato sauce. Your collective contributions and support have made a significant impact, and I am incredibly proud of our school community for coming together in such a meaningful way.
This Friday, 16 May, marks our Annual Walk to School Day! Walking is a great way to boost overall physical health and provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with your children through conversation. We encourage all families to get involved and join us in walking to school this week. It’s a fun and healthy way to start the day!
We also have an exciting and busy fortnight ahead with Swimming and Water Safety sessions for our Year 3-5 students. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop important water safety skills, but it’s also quite a physically demanding experience. Swimming each day, along with the walk to and from the pool, can be tiring. We appreciate everyone’s support as we ensure the safety and well-being of our students during this valuable learning experience.
Next week, we are excited to welcome back John Maddin and his Marimbas and Wacky Instruments. This is a brilliant experience where all students will get involved and have the chance to play his fun and wacky instruments. It’s always a highlight of the year, and we look forward to seeing the students enjoy this hands-on musical adventure!
Warm Regards,
Michael
