Dear Families,
I hope you have all settled into term 2 well, whether your child is learning from home or at school. The current status of schools availability for students has not changed and this was confirmed by the Premier today. Schools are still only open to students whose parents are essential workers and are unable to supervise their children at home. We thank you as a school for supporting us with this as it enables us to support the learning of all students, whilst maintaining high standards of social distancing and hygiene on the school site.
As a school we are starting to experiment with Zoom and will be looking to having online Zoom meetings up and running across the school by week 3. This will enable students at home to connect with their teachers face to face online. We will not be running online classes, but teachers will use it to read books to students, explain tasks and hold Q and A sessions.
Please fine attached the weekly schedules for each class for next week. These are designed to give families an overview of what is expected in order to plan your week around work and family commitments.
Finally, as of next Friday we will be starting a weekly newsletter to celebrate learning both at school and at home. If you could send in a photo of your child learning that you are happy to go into the newsletter please send to goulburn.street.primary@education.tas.gov.au.
Regards Michael
