Dear Families,
A warm welcome to all our community as we start Term 3. Whilst we are still operating in the new normal in regards to managing the impact of COVID-19 restrictions, in large we are back to operating as we were prior to this unprecedented event. We are still working through the logistics of larger school events in particular our fortnightly assemblies, but we will provide further information prior to our first assembly on Friday 31st July. I can confirm that we will be returning to our regular format for assemblies, with only the audience numbers effected by public health spacing requirements.
During this term our school will have a major focus on the value of ‘Growth’ through the lens of a strength based approach. Many of you will remember that our school was a pilot school for a the Visible Wellbeing Project, working with the wonderful Professor Lea Waters. Whilst the strong focus on wellbeing has not diminished within our school environment, our staff have revisited the VWB work and are establishing this approach. If you would like further information about this work I encourage you to talk to your class teacher and visit https://www.leawaters.com/ for further information.
I am pleased to welcome Miss Lily Czeszek to our teaching staff full time for the remainder of the year. Due to the government now funding an additional 1 hours release time for teachers, Miss Czeszek will be teaching specialist classes from Kinder to Year 6 in the area of wellbeing including; gross motor skills, visible wellbeing (strengths-based learning), health and nutrition. Miss Czeszek will continue in her regular role as the HPE teacher on Mondays and Tuesdays.
