Principals Message

Dear Families,

It has been wonderful to see so many parents come in for parent-teacher meetings to discuss the progress your children are making. Two-way communication is crucial for ensuring strong relationships between school and home and is an important factor in helping students reach their full potential in the school environment.

As Principal, I would like to remind families that my door is always open, and I am always keen to hear feedback from the community about any concerns, questions, or ideas on how we can improve our school. If I’m not available immediately, please make an appointment with the office.

The safety of all students and families when arriving and leaving Goulburn Street Primary School is something we must take very seriously. We have two main exit points from our school: the top exit on Forest Road and the bottom exit on Goulburn Street. We are fortunate to have a crossing guard on Goulburn Street, so where possible, we strongly encourage families to use this crossing. The top crossing is supported by school staff after school. To ensure safety, families must cross at the designated crossing areas. There is poor visibility approaching both crossings, and cars at times do not stop. Using the crossing is the only way to ensure that cars see students and families crossing the road.

Our “Chill Out – Winter School Disco” is next Thursday, July 4th, in the school hall. All students must return the permission form and pay $10 to the office to attend. This is a School Association-led event, and we already have parent support in place. Our staff will also be in attendance, providing duty of care for all students.

A reminder that students in the K-2 disco will be taken directly to the hall at 2:50 pm and will be signed in by school staff. Students in the 3-6 disco will leave school at the normal time and return for the start of the disco at 4:15 pm. All students will need to be collected from the hall at the conclusion of their event, either at 4:00 pm or 5:15 pm.

Warm regards,

Michael
