During Term 2 in Music, students have loved our conducting activities. We recently purchased a professional baton and the children have had a great time learning how to ‘animate’ their fellow classmate musicians! Each conductor has their own style and some children have turned out to be naturals! We have used the baton with a range of music styles including jazz, contemporary, classical and movie scores.

Some classes have also been enjoying movement and rhyme games to develop awareness of beat and inner musical listening/hearing.

In all classes we have been focussing on improving our musical general knowledge. We have also all been working continually on our underpinning knowledge, reading and use of notation.
