Music News - Jon Madin Whacky Instrument Workshops
What an amazing two days we all had last week with teacher, composer and inventor extraordinaire Jon Madin and his whacky instruments! All classes had great fun trying out lots of different instruments, such as ding boxes, echocellos, marimbas, singing bikes and more! All students worked very hard, honed their musical skills and had fantastic fun too!
The ding boxes “stampede” was a special favourite with Early Childhood classes – along with the exciting pump, melodica and tyre machine and its exploding gloves!!

The previous experience of the Primary classes shone through as they made beautiful music on the echocellos and marimbas, remembering and building on their knowledge from previous Jon Madin sessions. Ms Farrell was particularly impressed by how quickly some students could spell ‘cabbage’ on the marimba! It was fantastic to see the joy and laughter that the music and whacky experiences brought to the students’ faces.

Conratulations to everyone on our wonderful concert last Thursday afternoon. Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended – you were a great audience! Special thanks to staff and parents who did a stellar impromptu performance with their dancing and with the crazy pump and tyre machine! A sincere thanks to all students and parents who helped bump in and out.

We look forward to welcoming Jon back in the future!
