On Tuesday last week, our class had the exciting opportunity to attend the STEM Spectacular at Hobart City High School. Students participated in a range of hands-on workshops that explored different areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The day began with an engineering challenge where students built towers using only spaghetti and marshmallows. This fun and creative task encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and innovative thinking.

Next, we delved into biology, dissecting flowers to identify their parts and learning about pollination. Students also had the chance to use microscopes to observe fine details up close, sparking curiosity about the natural world.

In the final workshop, students explored chemistry through an engaging experiment where they used a chemical reaction to blow up a balloon. It was a great way to learn about gases and reactions in a fun and interactive way.

Overall, the excursion was a fantastic experience that inspired our students to think like scientists and engineers. A big thank you to Hobart City High School for hosting such a spectacular day!
