Tournament of Minds 2019
On Saturday 7th September, 4 teams from Goulburn Street Primary competed in the State Final of Tournament of Minds.
Tournament of Minds is a problem solving programme for teams of students from both primary and secondary schools. Tournament of Minds aims to enhance the potential of our students by developing diverse skills, enterprise, time management, and the discipline to work collaboratively within a challenging and competitive environment.
GSPS entered one team in the Social Science category, one team in the STEM category and two teams in the The Arts Category. Our teams competed amongst 66 other teams from many schools across Tasmania.
All teams proudly represented our school and demonstrated their strengths of teamwork, leadership, organisation, creativity, humour and gratitude. The teams’ performances allowed for individuals to share their own personal strengths and skills and were most enjoyable to watch.
It is very pleasing to announce that the STEM and Social Science team came first in their categories and will now go onto the International Final in Hobart representing Tasmania. A fantastic achievement!!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the parent facilitators for all their time, support and encouragement of their teams. A big thank you to Jarryd, Matthew, Ann, Alison, Sophy, Victoria, Hilary and Pragati.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
